Lone Wolf by Val Allen– Community Contribution Poetry

Thank you Val Allen for this poem. It’s very true that in the 21st century, the root reason why people want to kill is mostly out of greed and cruelty. Stop Trophy hunting.

LONE WOLF
High on a hilltop
Howling to the moon
A lone wolf mourns the passing
Of his mate, all too soon
With budding life inside her
She stumbled from his side
A hunter’s bullet took her life
For possession of her hide
The lone wolf sent a message
To his brothers far and near
That the one who prances upright
Is a beast they all should fear
So when you hear the howling
And your child scans the hill
You can tell him it’s a warning
Of man’s greed and need to kill.
