Cecil the Lion Poem – Community Contribution Poetry

Thanks for Elizabeth for sharing this drawing and a wonderful poem

You were snuffed out by a thief in the night
Who took your life but did not have the right
Two days you suffered with an arrow in your side
Then your killer returned to steal your head and your hide
Your life has been traded for your body bleeding and torn
And photos of your laughing killers standing over
your lifeless form
You left behind a family of many
What now will be left will there be any?
Your children and brother will be under siege
Because of selfish desires of one to do as he pleased
There must be an accounting for the human race
But one thing is sure evil wears a human face
