    • Nobody is saying what he did is right. However how would you like it if you did something that someone didn’t do what you liked and they harassed you everyday. Its people like your type that never think these things through. You care more about a animals life then you do humans. How about the lion who mauled other people or other animals are you protesting against the lion?

      • Enough of the Ignorance.Just because People are against the abuse and unnecessary killing of animals does NOT mean they don’t care about people. You don’t know me or any of the other people that are outraged. Also for your information the lion is a wild animal who hunts for FOOD he does not lure people out of a protected home, shine lights in their eyes and then shoot it with arrows and then let it roam injured for hours before killing it and cutting off its head to hang on their wall. Why not comment on Dr. Palmer who would rather spend 50,000.00 dollars to kill a lion than helping PEOPLE.

      • I do care more about animals than I do about most humans, and this is why: Animals aren’t out destroying the planet. They aren’t taking another beings life in cold blood for a damn trophy, for a trinket or some bogus treatment that they cannot cure. They aren’t breaking into your homes and raping women and children. They aren’t taking away your homes and food sources, which by the way is the cause of most human/animal conflict, other than a injured or sick animal that can’t hunt it’s natural food source so it goes after the next easiest thing to take down so it doesn’t starve, and as always it is the animal that gets blamed and pays the price, not the humans. They don’t place us in captivity to live a life not natural for them. Shall I go on Aymeric?

      • What are you talking about… and yes I do care more about the lion than the hunter , and the company he used…. GET EDUCATED and understand having money does not allow you the right to kill majestic animals because you can afford it !!

      • I care about all animals just as I care about human lives. However, people can make choices and follow through with those choices. People can be heard. Animals rely on us and cannot speak. We have to be their voice, You need to learn compassion.

      • I’ve thought it through, and you’re right, I care more about animals than I do this murderous, law-breaking man. This is not the first time he has illegally killed and unless he’s brought to justice, it won’t be the last. He’s recently stated that he’s planning his next hunting expedition, so he clearly feels no remorse. Perhaps you might not have thought this through if you think we’re wrong for wanting this man punished.

      • you mean like kill a defenseless animal and when called out on it have no empathy and say i did nothing wrong instead of saying I’m sorry? No it will never happen. stop defending psychopaths! If a lion mauls someone they shouldn’t have been in his space the animals are getting pushed off their land that God gave them, stop being selfish.. You obviously must have done something terrible and worried about backlash. lol

      • No, I am not protesting against the lion because he was probably provoked. And, you are right. I do like animals more than I like humans, in general.

      • I think it is pretty clear to anyone who has a brain that humans make a conscious decision to kill an animal for it’s pelt, or head or, in this case, teeth. An animal that attacks does so out of instinct, usually because he is scared or provoked. To even suggest that we should protest an animal really is sophomoric. If this creep would be extradited to Zimbabwe, like he should be, his practice wouldn’t be harassed. But, since that does not appear to be happening, he will just have to get used to it. And, if you don’t agree with us why are you even on this site?

  2. So proud of all of you…I am doing what I can being in Arizona…know that all your hard work and efforts are respected and appreciated. Cecil the lion will NEVER be forgotten…and if you listen carefully…you can still hear him roar…as we are doing in all our own ways to help make a stand to protect and support the these majestic creatures that cant speak…it is our duty to speak for them!

  3. I wish I could join in. I would love to ask him if his penis size changed since he killed and dismembered a living being? If anybody has the chance, please ask that. Also, if you could ask him if he wears Cecil’s fur as a diaper and how does that make him feel?

  4. Non-violent protest led by Gandhi shook the foundations of the British empire in India ! What is Palmer? Protest everywhere. Where ever he goes, he must know that he is hated and despised. He will fall eventually.

  5. So have you all stopped buying the abused parts of other animals in solidarity with Cecil, or are you still eating painfully killed animals and their eggs and lactations. If not, why not? All animals deserve equal treatment.

    • I am on the road to stopping but you cant compare livestock animals with lions.. as lions will be extinct in 10-20 years if this keeps up… cows, chicken, and the others will not. tigers and rhinos.. also endangered. Livestock animals should be treated kindly, I’m totally against factory farming and do sign petitions for it regularly. If meat and products were banned Id be happy. I believe everyone should at least cut back eating it, even by forced rations.

      • princess Layla – I commend you for being against factory farms but there is so much more to being an animal advocate. ALL animals are equal whether or not it is a lion, a cow or a chicken or, for that matter, a fish. They all have life, they all suffer and they are all at the mercy of humans. That is why factory farms are even in existence – the fact that people have decided that some lives are expendable. Livestock are not treated kindly and buying their body parts to eat is supporting the industry. But, it is not just eating them that is the problem. Wearing their skins, feathers and fur is also supporting their deaths. Paying money to see the animals in a circus is supporting the abuse that they endure. Dog racing, horse racing – it’s all animal exploitation. We, as humans, need to stop using them for our food, clothing and entertainment. Then, we will all be able to say “I love animals” and really mean it.

    • Cydcydi – I have been vegan for about 12 years now. I agree with you. People should be against ALL animal abuse. The abuse that happens in factory farms everyday is horrific. I protest many animal exploitation venues. It has always puzzled me how people say they love animals but continue to eat them, where them and support the abuse that is fostered by captivity in zoos and circuses. “To animals all humans are Nazi’s and life is an eternal Treblinka”.

  6. hobby killing, that is killing animals for sport is antisocial behavior. these people start out killing animals then progress to abusing people, often sexually then murdering people. all his supporters keep complaining that it was just a lion and nothing special. well to many of us, he was special. he was a majestic beautiful creature that was savagely butchered. the fact that he whines about how unfair people are is insulting and his continual blame of others is offensive. no one in their right mind should go to any healthcare worker or veterinarian whose favorite pastime is hobby killing. if he is so big into conservation, he should use some of his money to help fund an animal sanctuary. lastly, his veneers look awful. like dentures. a good cosmetic dentist makes them look somewhat natural, not like some plastic removable oral prostheses.

  7. @Aymeric re your defense of Walter Palmer. We must remember this is not an innocent man who accidentally shot the wrong lion. Nor can it all be blamed on having trusted his guides. He knew the lion was being lured out of the protected area. He has been in trouble before for shooting protected animals for trophies and then lying about it. That behaviour is bad enough in lowlifes, but killing for fun and trophies is especially creepy when practiced by any kind of health care professional. If a child kills animals for sport, this is considered indicative of a serious problem and the child is deemed to need psychological help. And yet, there is a huge industry that helps wealthy adults to do just that. A mentally healthy adult doesn’t spend a lot of money to fly somewhere and kill a healthy animal just for sport. Walter Palmer has also paid out a lot of money in a sexual harassment case. Although there are many more trophy hunters and we should be shining the spotlight on all of them, Walter’s actions were particularly egregious in that, despite his assertions, he knew what he was doing and then lied to evade consequences when it became known. As to lions, or any other animal, mauling people, if I go into a wild animal’s territory, I become fair game. Eventually, if this keeps up (trophy hunting) we’ll have nothing on the planet but huge sprawling developments, malls and parking lots.

  8. thank you Brenda and others who are taking part in this campaign and the protest….. this dentist is a disgrace to all human kind … people should not go to his clinic because he is a lunatic and a savage… I have no words to describe his bloody acts…… let him suffer the pain he caused upon Cecil and make him a pauper and suffer like a beggar …. so that he will not get an opportunity to have trophy killings ….. in future…

  10. I think it is not so much against a single person, but what the man has come to represent.

We are consistently killing (and plundering my continent’s animals, namely Africa) animals and for what? A trophy on your wall? We have lost so much of our beautiful nature to people like this that greedy game farmers are now at a stage of having to rear lions for an industry that has become known as “canned” hunting or where more of these greedy people are having “driven hunts” where beaters drive animals into an area in which lazy fat rich people from overseas can pick off the animals in a mass slaughter type scenario?

We have had enough. And the fact that this man has already made it clear that the feelings of our dislike of people like him “invading” our shores is not going to stop him coming back for more trophies……well, I say give him hell and frighten all those who think they that with their money they can continue to destroy our wildlife.

    • Well said, Lejane. Too many people have regarded Africa as fair game for plundering and pillaging for far too long – from its people to its natural resources and its animals. To me, this is a form of terrorism. Governments have revoked passports to stop people from leaving the country when it’s suspected they have been radicalized into wanting to fight for ISIS. If any government were really serious about being against trophy hunting, it could prevent known trophy hunters from leaving the country. Many governments are weak willed about things that aren’t a direct threat to their elections. I wish the people of Africa would mobilize and drive the trophy hunting guides out of business and send a clear message to would be trophy hunters that if they come to Africa to destroy nature and plunder wildlife, they will be in as much danger as the animals! I wish you success in your anti-hunting efforts!

      • We do a fair amount of work to try and stop what we can. The last “driven hunt” in particular caused a huge amount of outrage. Our NSPCA did all that they legally could to monitor the hunt as best as they could and one of our main organisations Ban Animal Trading organised vociferous protests every single day. We have very many respected organisations working against the canned hunting industry which has been highlighted a lot in our media.

Our government however, is not always known to be impervious to a bit of bribery and corruption, so the situation here is difficult. It’s Africa and it’s ALWAYS complicated.
